Kambo is a traditional Amazonian purification practice that works through the body in a direct and powerful way. The secretion of the Giant Monkey Frog is applied to small points on the surface of the skin, initiating a rapid physical response that may include heat, flushing, swelling, nausea, and purging.
People come to Kambo for many reasons...to clear what feels stagnant, reconnect with their strength, move through a personal threshold, or create space for something new. The experience can be intense, but the active phase is generally brief and is followed by time to rest, replenish, and integrate.
Each ceremony is held with intention, close support, and respect for both the traditional roots of Kambo and the individual process of the person receiving it.
a peek into ceremony...
what happens in a Kambo ceremony?
While every person’s experience is unique, each ceremony moves through an intentional and supportive flow.
Arrival + Intention
We begin by settling into the space, connecting with your intention, and taking time to prepare for the ceremony ahead.
Hapé + Sananga
Before receiving Kambo, you’ll commune with Hapé and Sananga. These medicines help clear the mind and energy, ground you into your body, and prepare you to enter the Kambo process with greater presence.
Receiving Kambo
Small points, known as gates, are gently placed on the surface of the skin before the Kambo is applied. The medicine begins working quickly and may bring sensations such as heat, increased heart rate, facial swelling, sweating, nausea, and purging. The most active phase usually lasts between 10–30 minutes, and you’ll be fully supported throughout the process.
Rest + Integration
Once the active phase has passed, you’ll have time to rest, replenish, and allow the experience to settle before we gently close the ceremony together.

your guide & facilitator:
Shanti Aum
My relationship with Hapé began as a deep calling to commune with its spirit. Very quickly, I received visions, guidance, and instructions that completely catapulted me into my soul's purpose. After receiving Hapé initiation, I was granted the opportunities to hold ceremony and begin teaching the wisdom that I had been gifted by the medicine.
One evening, Grandfather Hapé gave me very clear instructions that I was to share the wisdom I held with all who were open to receiving it. “A Walk With Hapé” is my way of honoring my beloved Plant Teacher, Grandfather Hapé, and passing on the knowledge and gift of this practice as it has been passed down to me.
"A Walk with Hapé" is the first program of its kind in the plant medicine community. Guided by my Ancestors, Spirit, and Hapé, I offer you this transformational experience from my heart and soul.
It is such an honor to be a part of your journey, thank you for your trust
With so much gratitude,
Shanti Aum
