Invite in a touch of grounded beauty and tradition to your space with the Copalerita- a mini earthenware copal burner handcrafted by artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico. Made from natural clay, each piece is shaped with care and intention, carrying the spirit of ancestral craftsmanship and everyday ritual.
In indigenous Mexican rites and practices, the Copalero is traditionally called Popoxcomitl- a nahuatl word- which serves as a sacred vessel to hold the sacred and essential element of fire within our ceremonies. Fire gives us light, warmth, energy, and inspires action.
The Popoxcomitl also represents the womb...the womb nourishes, holds, transforms, and releases energy and life. As we burn our sacred resins and keep the fire within the Popoxcomitl's bowl blazing, we are actively engaging with the frequency of the Divine Feminine.
You can burn any resins or herbs you wish using charcoal tablets. You can find many ritual tools for your ceremony here. Please practice safety while communing with the Popoxcomitl as temperatures can get very hot. Always use tongs to maneuver your charcoal tablets and have a cloth nearby in case the Copalerita gets too hot to touch with bare skin.
